POTSDAM — Clarkson University's NYSTAR-supported Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP) senior technical writer Dr. Dana M. Barry has received her eleventh consecutive APEX Award for Publication Excellence. This honor presented by Communications Concepts of Springfield, Virginia, is based on editorial content and overall communications effectiveness and excellence. Barry has received this award each year since 1996. Her winning entry, the "CAMP Annual Report Newsletter 2004-2005" faired extremely well in the intense competition. There were 5, 000 entries in the competition and approximately 1, 400 awards of excellence were distributed in 102 subcategories of 11 major areas. See Press Release TOP POTSDAM — Ramanathan Srinivasan, Suryadevara V. Babu, William G. America and Yie Shein Her were awarded a patent for slurry for chemical mechanical polishing silicon dioxide. The patent was assigned to Clarkson University, Eastman Kodak Company and Ferro Corporation. POTSDAM — Clarkson Chemistry Professor Sergiy Minko will become part of an international research project funded in part by a grant he has been awarded from the National Science Foundation. Minko will receive $150, 000 over the next three years to take part in "Materials World Network: Design of Responsive Materials via Mixed Polymer Brush Approach." This project, part of the National Science Foundation program, "Materials World Network: Cooperative Activity in Materials Research Between U.S. Investigators and Their Counterparts Abroad," will seek to develop new responsive polymer materials.
