HRTDC's mission is to transform the 300-acre Harriman site into a world class research and technology park. HRTDC was created in order to fulfill a range of important goals including attracting high-tech enterprises to Albany, creating jobs and diversifying the economy, assisting the University at Albany in building on its leadership position in scientific research and the development of new technologies, increasing the local tax base, providing long-term management of a valuable State asset and promoting and encouraging technology transfer and commercialization.
